This one day workshop will provide an understanding of the Core Performance Guide Efficiency NB Edition and is geared to Contractors (specifically project managers), Architects and Engineers.
The “Guide” was developed to facilitate the energy efficient design and construction of new commercial buildings without requiring energy modelling. The “Guide” provides a prescriptive approach which lists proven energy efficiency measures that are applicable to small and medium buildings.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course has been designed for the architects, contractors, project managers and engineers who are involved with new commercial building construction projects in New Brunswick.

About the instructors
Brian McCowan is a principal with ERS in North Andover Massachusetts. Brian is a certified lighting designer and a licensed construction supervisor with 30 years of experience in the energy efficiency and renewable energy fields. Daylighting and passive solar design are two areas of particular interest and expertise. Over the last 10 years he has made the advancement of above code programs a focus area leading training and implementation efforts for “stretch” codes, NBI Core Performance, and High Performance Schools. He is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine.
Nick Collins is a Project Engineer for ERS, Inc. and a LEED Accredited Professional. Nick directs the Efficiency Maine Commercial New Construction Program and provides new construction technical assistance for many efficiency programs, including Efficiency New Brunswick. His project management expertise focuses on sustainable design and construction methods, including the implementation of LEED and Core Performance rating system projects. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine.
