One of the principles of Efficiency NB’s incentive payments is that they are contingent upon concrete action by Industry to move forward with specific projects that meet Industry’s financial hurdle rates and other Industry Investment Criteria as defined in the Program Participation Agreement.
Capital Project Development
Opportunity Identification Incentive: Efficiency NB will offer up to 50% of the eligible costs of conducting an audit aimed at identifying energy efficiency project opportunities within a facility, up to a cumulative maximum Efficiency NB payment of $50,000. The activity must result in a Pre-feasibility Report that substantially conforms with the Program’s Pre-feasibility Report Guidelines (available upon request).
Business Case Incentive: Efficiency NB will provide an incentive of up to 50% of the eligible costs of conducting a detailed feasibility assessment undertaken to build the business case for the implementation of energy efficiency capital projects, up to a cumulative maximum Efficiency NB payment of $250,000. The activity must result in a Detailed Feasibility Report that substantially conforms with the Program’s Detailed Feasibility Report Guidelines (available upon request).
Energy Savings Measurement & Verification (M&V) Incentive: Efficiency NB will offer incentives of up to 50% of the eligible costs incurred for implementation of systems for measurement of the energy savings that result from Capital Energy Efficiency Project implementation, up to a cumulative maximum Efficiency NB payment of $50,000. The activity must result in an Energy Savings M&V System that substantially complies with the Program’s M&V guidelines (available upon request).
Energy Management Information System Projects
An Energy Management Information System (EMIS) promotes and enables energy efficiency improvements by providing management with relevant information for use in an energy management Program.
EMIS Audit Incentive: Efficiency NB will offer up to 100% of the eligible costs of an audit aimed at identifying energy management information system opportunities within a facility, up to a cumulative maximum payment of $15,000. The activity must result in an EMIS Audit Report that substantially conforms with the Program’s EMIS Audit Report Guideline (available upon request).
EMIS Implementation Plan Incentive: Efficiency NB will provide an incentive of up to 50% of the eligible cost of a detailed feasibility assessment undertaken to build the business case for the implementation EMIS systems up to a cumulative maximum Efficiency NB payment of $35,000. The activity must result in an EMIS Implementation Report that substantially conforms with the Program’s EMIS Implementation Report Guideline (available upon request).
EMIS Implementation Incentive: Efficiency NB will offer incentives of up to 50% of the eligible costs of implementation of EMIS systems, up to a cumulative maximum Efficiency NB payment of $100,000.
