LED CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Make your holiday displays smart and fashionable with LED decorative light strings. While LED lights may cost more than incandescent lights, they can pay for themselves with energy savings in two seasons or less. LED lights use up to 90% less energy than incandescent holiday lights do.

LED lights are more durable than incandescent bulbs:
They're shatterproof, shock resistant, and last up to 10 times longer. Because they produce very little heat, LED seasonal lights reduce the risk of fire.
To ensure quality and durability, look for a brand offering a warranty of three years or more when purchasing seasonal LED lights.
Did you know? The amount of electricity consumed by just one 7-watt incandescent bulb could power 140 LED bulbs – enough to light two 24-foot (7.3-metre) strings?
Timers and motion detectors
In areas where you cannot use compact fluorescent bulbs, timers, photocells and motion detectors are great for energy savings – indoors or out.
Because timers, photocells and motion detectors turn lights on and off automatically, they can generate huge energy savings.

Torchieres and fixtures
Torchieres: It's smarter and safer to replace inefficient halogen torchiere lamps with models that use ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescents (CFLs). Halogen bulbs produce extreme heat that wastes energy and can be a fire hazard; CFL bulbs are much cooler and use less than one-third the energy.
ENERGY STAR qualified fixtures: ENERGY STAR qualified fixtures are environmentally friendly and can cut your energy consumption by as much as 66%.
Could you use some extra pocket money? A single ENERGY STAR qualified torchiere can mean energy savings of up to $170 over its lifetime, or about $30 annually*.
*Compared to a 300-watt incandescent torchiere in use four hours per day at 8.5¢/kWh.
